Linking to a Specific Newsroom Article

Summary and Prerequisites: In this tutorial, you will learn how to use BlueLava Studio to link to a specific press release on your website. This tutorial assumes fundamental knowledge of word processing as well as a basic understanding of BlueLava Studio.

Preparation work: Before beginning the tutorial, you should create a newsroom element and add at least one press release to it. You will also need to add the newly created newsroom to an existing site page that will be used as part of the link.

Step 1: Login to BlueLava Studio and follow the directions in the "Publishing a Press Release" tutorial.

Step 2: Add the newsroom to one of your pages and browse to the press release.  You can do this from within BlueLava Studio by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the panel bar and clicking the title of your press release.

Step 3: Select the URL in your browser's address bar, copy it.

Step 4: In a new or existing Text Editor element, click the Insert Web Link icon and enter the text you wish to make a hyperlink in the Link Text box.

Step 5: Select External Website and in the Web Address box, paste the URL you copied earlier.  Trim off everything before the / at the end of your domain name.  For example, to link to this tutorial, the following could be pasted into the Web Address box.
WeeklyTutorials.asp?ARTICLE4259=8385
Step 6: Choose how you want the link to open and click the Insert Link button to finish.
